I just got a great email. This is an email that I have been officially anticipating for over two weeks, and unofficially for over two years. On March 6th, 2008, Apple announced the iPhone SDK. Since then, I’ve wanted to get in the game. Well, today I receieved this email:
My first app just landed on the app store. The app is a fairly simple idea: track your favorite sports teams, in real time, using social media. People tweet about everything these days! They tweet about movies, they tweet about books, they tweet about sports. So why not keep track of what your teams are doing using twitter? While you’re at it, why not post a pic of the game from your iPhone to flickr so people can share the experience with you? That’s the idea, and the app is called Sportee.
Sportee will let you track your favorite teams (and eventually favorite golfers, or drivers, or any athelete) in real time. Watch the tweets roll in as they are tweeted. Join in the conversation by tweeting, retweeting or replying to other fans of your teams. View and add photos to the flickr feed for your teams. All the necessary tags or hashtags are added to your pics and tweets as they are uploaded.
Today, I got in the game… and I called it Sportee.
